I'm interested to see which sources you all use. His is for software rather than hardware. if you use a NAS drive or media/music server, I would presume you populate it with CDs, so CDs should be chosen if this is the case. ‘Music streaming services’ would be the likes of like Spotify, which may be via a ChromeCast Audio/Sonos Connect/Bluesound anode etc etc. Add your answer/answers to the poll

Expanded on this on the other poll for digital sources. I do listen to radio a fair bit - but not as hifi. I have a Roberts DAB and recently acquired a surprisingly decent-sounding Alexa-enabled Sonos One.

Any new members want to cast some votes? Yes Sir, just pressed some buttons above CD and radio - mostly off my Freeview STB, but also my little Pure DAB radio too

Innuos zenith for tidal mainly and server ripped content, then cd transport. Records are too old school for me, expensive and digital is too good and convenient with great dacs nowadays. Casts into doubt need for vinyl as a source for me.

I’ve voted, and realised I use all except reel to reel, which I’ve never used at home.
I have so many cassettes with pretty decent recordings off FM, mostly BBC Radio 3 concerts, but rarely listen these days. There was always something satisfying about making home tapes, even if it was just the relief that you’d chosen the right length tape!
With the myriad of archive material on YouTube these days there aren’t enough hours left in a lifetime to hear much of it!
Right up to date, I’m enjoying my first Proms season on internet radio, despite my previous devotion to FM. This partly because we now live in a new house and decent aerials are hard to find, and the Linn Sneaky does a very fine job on 320kbps streams.

I'm pretty traditional (some call it boring): Radio, vinyl and lastly CDs.

I clicked CD's but I rip all my CD's to a Mac Mini. I don't own a cdp anymore maybe you could add NAS or Computer to the list.

I probably should’ve made it clear that NAS drives and computers would come under compact discs, as they’re generally populated by CDs. But then, this is the software we’re talking about here rather than the hardware (I have another poll for that, I believe). So this is purely software, however it is used

I have all my CDs ripped to an iPod Classic which is docked onto a Pure i20 and outputs optical to my NAD D3020. Bit clunky but works well still and means I can still get some use out of my old iPod Classic. It's a pain when you want to change tracks though...

Hi Davidf, you forgot to add Streamer/DAC or just DAC. In my case I do use records, Tidal and a DAC. All my CDs are ripped into my Synology NAS and I stream directly to the Vega DAC. All the best

All the best I did try and choose the options carefully. I probably didn’t make it too clear (although it was clear in my mind because I created it!), that if you use a NAS, 99% of the time, you’re going to be populating that NAS drive or music server with content from CDs. So when I say “source” I really mean the software source. A “streamer” I would include with ‘music streaming services’. I’ll go back to my first post and elaborate a little. Not that anyone will take much notice though - how many people read the first post? We see a poll, and think, “I’ll have me some of that” and just choose our options

And I do, all the new artists that sell their music directly to the public, I think that’s the way to go! A FLAC file isn’t really a CD... I hate CDs always have! Hate the fragilety of the cases! Hate the disc itself! Hate the small print! IMO what is to like from the cd....? One thing, the FLAC file that you get from it ....
