I suppose I should explain... I was thinking about the rankings for the forum, and wanted something different to the usual. I thought of drummers. I was going to start off with Ringo, then Phil Collins, through to John Bonham or similar. I searched online for a Top 10 drummer's list, and came across the one on Gibson's website: www.gibson.com/News-Lifestyle/Features/en-us/Drum-Roll--The-Top-10-Rock-Drummers-of-All-Time.aspx so decided to go with that The colour of the stars were just colours of the rainbow from the wel known song...of course, there's not 10, so you end up gaining blue stars once you get to Dave Grohl

I think it's a good idea to stick with genres of music because some of the greatest jazz drummers would be hard to place on that kind of list. I bet no one could even name 10 classical "drummers."
On that list however, not sure Ringo Starr should be on it if the list is for drumming talent. He's good, but I can think of a couple with far more creative style.

I don't know what sort of list I'd have come up with on my own, so I decided to Google "top 10 drummers". One or two lists were a little iffy, then came across the Gibson one, which seemed pretty reasonable (one or two I'd disagree with myself), so just went with that - I can always change it to something else at some point. Thought being Ringo Starr for the first 5 posts might be an incentive to post...

Now that I know that - I'm wondering how many to get to be Dave Grohl? And.... Nirvana, Tenacious D, or Foo Fighters version? I'll go full horns Tenacious D version if it's an option!!!!

Might do away with the rankings anyway - it's not like people really care, and I don't want people to be scare to join in because they haven't got thousands of posts, or their views not to be taken seriously for the same reason. I've seen people give out dubious advice on forums, but people take them seriously because of their rank or post count - just because someone has nothing to do all day but post on forums, doesn't necessarily mean they're any sort of expert, or know everything!

OK to do away with rankings, but only once I reach 500...

Probably the world’s most under-rated drummer. Just listen carefully to “Rain”if you aren’t sure....

I’ve now done away with the ranking and star system. Just looks neater. And because it now just says “member” on the profile, I don’t want anyone signing up with jokey names like “large” or “long” thank you very much
