I hadn’t meant to start this thread so close to September the 11th, but yes, for me, the events of 2001 qualify as far as I’m concerned.
There’s plenty of documentaries out there either insinuating or debunking, but for me, one aspect of the attacks 17 years ago don’t quite add up, and it’s an aspect that none of the documentaries mention. A terrorist is out to achieve one thing - maximum carnage, with as high a death toll as possible.so why attack just before 9am in the morning? Many people were still on their way into work that morning. Why wouldn’t you wait until say, 10am, when surely you have a pretty high possibility that anyone who worked in World Trade Center One and Two will have been at their desk? According to Wikipedia, 50,000 people worked in the towers, and over the course of a day, 200,000 people would pass through them. In my opinion, only 3,000 dead is a pretty small number compared to ‘what could have been’. I know the towers were home to a number of financial companies like Morgan Stanley, and they were a symbol of greed in the eyes of the East but I personally don’t think that terrorists who plotted the numerous attacks of September the 11th (and were mostly, successful), would overlook this particular aspect.
Of course, that leads to the possibility that it wasn’t terrorists at all, and it was orchestrated by the US government. Maybe they chose such an early time to avoid maximum deaths?

No. Most of them are exactly that: Theory. They are great if you have nothing better to do (present company excepted).

I just feel that things in general are far more corrupt than they used to be, and because of that, many dismissed conspiracy theories probably aren’t far from the truth. Somewhere, theresusually one person or an organisation behind virtually anything who are in it for their own ends, exploiting whatever they can to gain whatever they can.

The world we know of is based on what news media we read / watch. There will always be a difference between the actual world and the world the media projects it to be.

There's truth in what David and BB say. Most conspiracy theories the truth does out eventully.
One that springs to mind is the Titanic. The conspiracy a few years ago suggested it was the SS Olympic. After forensic analysis of its rivets, it was confirmed to be the Titanic.
It's now alleged there was a fire days before it set sail from Southampton. That weakened the structure. Because White Star Line were way over budget in building the liner the engineers cut corners by using inferior parts, including cheap steel to mould the rivets. If it had the same quality of the Olympic the Titanic would have stayed afloat long enough to save all passengers. It was those two combinations that put paid to the Titanic.
Also, any photo, print, postcard of the Titanic is actually of the Olympic.
