This Scottish duo won't be to everyone's taste, but those that persevere with them will surely reap many hours of enjoyment and discovery. No matter how many times you hear a BoC album, you'll always hear something new, so densely layered the music.
As to which albums to try out - all of them! I would say go through them in order. Spend a week or so on Music Has The Right To Children (and remember it was realised last century), then move on through in chronological order. They grow with repeated listens, and unless someone just likes odd or weird, a single listen will more than likely do nothing to draw you in.

Not familiar with BoC, so can't comment.
I could recommend a few but most have either not heard of them or think they are rubbish. That's the subjective nature of music.

How about I add a section for “your recommendations”, a board where anyone/everyone can start a thread and do so? Or you can just make recommendations in the album or artist sections - just start a new thread for each one.
It doesn’t matter if anyone else feels your recommendations are rubbish...

Had a quick listen of BoC and they are hard work for a first time listener. Will persevere and see if they grow on me.

It’s not the sort of music you can casually listen to first time and decide you like it, although that may depend on which track you hear first! It does take time to appreciate, and I suggest starting with their first album ideally, which gives a great insight as to what they’re about overall. It’s probably more easily accessible than Tomorrow’s Harvest or Geogaddi. They’re also the sort of albums you play from start to finish, rather than track skip. In my opinion anyway.
What they do is different though, and bearing in mind that Music Has The Right To Children appeared at the end of the 90s, it was very new and fresh. There’s been many artists pop up with the intention of imitating them, and while some have the sound of BoC, it’s just not the same. Bocuma (a BoC fan) and Clocolan are the closest I’ve found. Tycho are similar, and have their BoC moments.

I like boards of Canada too. Tremendous group and great for testing out hi Fi. Music has the right to children easily best imo.

My brother was into BoC, I might see if he's got any albums I can borrow, although I bet all of his are on vinyl. I appreciate the need to spend some time getting into bands, some of my favourite music has taken a bit of time to grow on me and now I absolutely love it.
